Balala Wind Farm Scoping Report Submitted – September 2026

EDF power solutions Australia has submitted a Scoping Report for the proposed Balala Wind Farm to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The Scoping Report is an important early step in the NSW environmental planning and assessment process. It provides an overview of the proposed project and identifies key issues to be investigated as part of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
These include biodiversity, noise, traffic and transport, visual impacts, Aboriginal cultural heritage, water, and social and economic impacts.
The proposed Balala Wind Farm is located approximately 10 kilometres west of Uralla, NSW, and includes up to 60 wind turbines and a 200 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The Scoping Report is available on the NSW Government's Major Projects Portal.
